Review: iWhite Korea Nose Pack

This nose pack is the main reason why I discovered the whole iWhite Korea line last saturday.

I was looking for an inexpensive solution to my whiteheads and blackheads when I found this really cute sachet at Watsons. It says, "iWhite Korea Nose Pack". The packaging was super cute so I decided to try it out. However, the saleslady (a.k.a. girls who are good in convincing you to buy something that you would otherwise not buy) managed to, you guessed it, make me check out the whole line of iWhite Korea products. I have this irrational fear of salespersons (I totally shy away whenever they approach me in stores) but I still listened to her, since she wasn't asking me, "How can I help you Ma'am?" anyway.

And so, it happened. She got me to buy the whole pack of sachets in the iWhite Korea line. -_____-

I have already reviewed some of them, specifically the Whitening Pack and the Moisturizing Cream, but I have yet to review the Moisturizing Facial Wash and the Facial Cream. I will review them too, eventually... when I get less busy from school.

Anyway, my purpose in buying a nose pack didn't fail with the iWhite Korea Nose Pack, however, it's not the best one I've tried. Maybe because it's a peel-off pack? As I've already said in my iWhite Whitening Pack review, I didn't have a very good experience with the peeling process of the mask. It was the same as this.

I like the feeling of the nose pack on my nose, even though it felt a bit too tight. You can really feel the tightness as the cream dries. Ho. Personally, I enjoyed that. :)

But then, when it was time to peel it off, it was a total failure on my part. -___- I couldn't peel it off properly, and some residue was still left on my nose. It stayed even on my blackheads, meaning it didn't remove what I wanted to remove in the first place. *sigh* I have this horrible, deep blackhead that is quite visible up close. It's only one, and it's not that obvious to others I think, still, it annoys me when I look at the mirror. Hahaha. :)) Does anyone know how to remove deeper blackheads?

Bottom line is, the iWhite Korea Nose Pack is a decent blackhead/whitehead remover, although it doesn't remove the deeper set ones. Oh well. At least it's very affordable. Though I did like Etude House Greentea Nose Pack and even Watsons Nose Pore Strips better than this. But that's just a personal preference of mine, I suppose.

Price? Around 20 pesos for the sachet I think.
Where to buy? Watsons
Will I recommend this? Could be a good option if you like peel off creams better than the actual strips.
Will I repurchase? No, I don't think so.

Review: iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream

This belongs to a series of posts about iWhite Korea products.

I was looking for a nose pack to keep the whiteheads away last Saturday when my bestfriend and I found a pretty-looking package. Ahem, specifically, the iWhite Korea Nose Pack. One thing led to the other and I ended up buying the whole pack of iWhite Korea products. Haha. They're available in cutesy sachets, so that's a definite plus for new buyers.

iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream review

iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream promises to give your skin a radiant and healthy-looking glow. (What's with all the 'healthy-looking' stuff lately?) It uses bio-nanotechnology which according to research, is something that will allow your pores to absorb this stuff better, since, well, the nano-size makes it teensy-small. Something like that.

iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream review

Oh, but anyway, the iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream is a pleasure to use! I don't use it every day, but it can be a pretty good moisturizer on the drier days. It's water-based and you can really see the water droplets when you apply it on your skin. Plus, this moisturizing cream makes your skin feel really smooth. I mean it. It makes it smooth and soft to the touch. And it's light too, unlike other moisturizers.

iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream review

To be honest, I love hydrating moisturizers better than those thicker moisturizers than come with the whitening effects and the SPF. They're a lot heavier on the skin. And they feel sticky after a few hours. Though one can't deny the benefits of SPF. *sigh*

iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream review

Sometimes I put this on in the morning after using iWhite Korea Facial Wash, which I totally love by the way. And then I put some powder over it to make my face look oh so smooth. I suggest you try that too. It's really cool, literally and figuratively, you guys. :)

iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream review

Price:  Around 22 pesos for the sachet.
Where to buy: Watsons and other drugstores.
Will I recommend this? Yup, definitely. There are other moisturizers better than this (ahem with SPF), but if you want an affordable, decent moisturizer that feels really good on the skin, then it's okay. It's perfect for all skin types anyway.
Will I buy again? I guess so. Maybe. Haha. Since I don't use it everyday (I'm super lazy when it comes to creams and moisturizers) the sachet lasts more than a week with me. (Well, it's been 8 days. Hahaha.)

Review: Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap

I'm a big fan of the Cyleina Black Pearl.

So about a month ago, when I ran out of GT Carrot Soap, I decided to give it a break and buy another product from the shelves of SM Department Store. Seeing the Cyleina brand, I gave this soap a try. Besides, I love the packaging. I'm quite fond of pretty boxes. :)

It's called the Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap. It claims to deeply cleanse and tighten the pores using the tonic benefits of tomato. According to the box, the alpha-hydroxy acids found in tomato can help get rid of pimples and acne through its gentle exfoliating action. Apparently, it also gives your cheeks a rosy hue and your body a fair glow.

I personally believe in the magical properties of tomato, as I remember last summer, my grandma told me to rub tomato on my face to make my skin glow despite the dry, hot weather. Haha. My cousins and I did try that out and I have to say, rubbing tomatoes on your face does make it smoother and softer. Of course, I expected the same results with this soap.

I have to say, the Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap did give me rosy pink cheeks that were soft to the touch. And, the smell is not too bad, though I like the Black Pearl a whole lot better. Plus, this soap lathers well, even though it also melts easily.

Judging from these, the Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap is actually quite good. However, there is one big thing that I disliked about this whitening soap. Although it claimed to get rid of them, this soap gave me pimples. I know, I know, maybe it's just my skin, but still, I developed around 4 small, but nasty, pimples on my forehead and nose the whole time I was using this. Which was around 2 weeks. Don't ask me why I stuck with it for two weeks if it gave me pimples. Haha. It's just that, I'm aware that some soaps make you break out at first and then clears everything up. Something called the 'purging' stage. But eventually, I stopped using this when the pimples started getting worse. I couldn't even finish half of the soap.

Since I still have the other half, I'm thinking of giving it another try sometime. Maybe. Perhaps the problem here is my skin. Perhaps it's not compatible with it or something. Di ko lang siguro hiyang. I'm sure there are plenty others out there who would benefit from the Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap.

Price? 105 pesos for the 200g soap.
Where to buy? SM Dept. beauty section, Watsons, Hortaleza
Will I recommend this? Not really.
Will I repurchase? No.

Review: GT Carrot Soap

GT Carrot Soap is an organic soap that promises healthy, young-looking skin. It has beta carotene that helps give one's skin a youthful glow.

I actually found this when I ran out of Dove soap at home and needed to buy one at the SM Department Store. The saleslady there was really good at pitching sales, I say. She told me she had been using the GT Carrot Lotion for a while now and since her skin was definitely glowing that night, I guess it added to her success in selling this product to me. She did say that this is also good for whitening, but I don't really believe in whitening products much. I just don't think most of them work.

But anyway, personally, I love the GT Carrot Soap! It's one of my favorite soaps in the world. I've been using this soap for a couple of months now. Around 4 months, I think?

I still use Dove Moisturizing Bar when I bathe, but I use this on my face and neck afterwards. I never got any breakouts from this. As a matter of fact, the GT Carrot Soap even keeps the pimples to a minimum. I still get tiny pimples every now and then, but they're never the red monsters that pimples could be sometimes. Whew.

The smell is also not overwhelming. Thankfully (and surprisingly), the GT Carrot Soap doesn't smell like carrots. Hahaha. I don't know what carrots smell like exactly, but I'm pretty certain that this soap isn't carrot-scented. The smell stays on your skin for a while after bathing, which I personally like. :)

It can be pretty drying on your skin though, and there's this stinging feeling when you leave it on for too long. And the dryness could be a problem on cold days. -_____- That's probably the only thing I dislike about the GT Carrot Soap. On colder days, my skin would look abnormally white for some minutes after bathing. Haha. When I go out of the bathroom, people would be like, "Makapal masyado polbo mo. (You have too much powder on.)" And I'd be all like, "Wala man akong polbo. (I don't have powder on.)"

Oh, by the way, the GT Carrot Soap melts easily. I discovered that the hard way when I left it on the soap dish... that was flooded with water. Ugh. To make it last longer, I cut it into three vertical strips. Haha, it's still easy to use, and it lasts longer too. One soap lasts around a month for me since I only use it on my face and neck. It's too drying for my body. Haha, it's because I don't like using lotion much since they feel too heavy for my skin.

Bottom line is, the GT Carrot Soap is definitely one of my favorites now. It feels and smells good, and it lathers really well. Plus, not only does it not give me breakouts, it also keeps my pimples to a minimum. What do you say about that? Haha. =)

Price: P78
Where to buy: SM Department Store, Watsons'
Will I recommend this? Yes, definitely.
Will I buy again? As long as they make this, I'll keep buying. Hahaha. :)

Review: Cyleina Black Pearl

I just love, love, love this soap. :")

Really I have to warn you now. This will be a glowing, and I mean GLOWING, review for the Cyleina Black Pearl. I could probably rave to you all day about how good I feel every time I take a bath with this soap. That's how much I love it.

First of all, I discovered this soap around summertime last year, after one swimming session. As some of you may know, I don't really like using lotions or sunscreens because they feel too heavy and sticky for me. That's why it was no surprise that I was really tanned by the sun after swimming all day. I needed a quick fix for my dull, peeling skin.

An aunt of mine suggested Kojie-San Kojic Soap but I already had an experience with it two years ago and I wanted to try something new. So my cousins and I scourged the department store shelves for something inexpensive to try out and tadaaaa, we found the Cyleina Black Pearl soap!

For that, I'm really, really glad.

Cyleina Black Pearl is supposed to be a whitening soap, but I honestly love it for an entirely different reason. Every time I use this soap, I would feel a cooling sensation that's just really relaxing. I sometimes use this all over my body and wait for a couple of minutes before washing it off, just because it feels like heaven to use. It's really good.

The scent of the Cyleina Black Pearl soap is also pretty hypnotizing. I don't know what that is exactly, but it reminds me of wine and grapes. Something of that sort. It stays for a bit on your skin too, and it's absolutely lovely.

Another plus is that it doesn't melt that easily, unlike other soaps with whitening effects! I used the mini soap for over a month. Given that I don't always use it all over my body... but still! Haha. Have you seen the mini Cyleina Black Pearl? It's really small. Lol. But what's amazing is that it could last for more than a month.

As for the whitening properties, well, as always, I didn't really notice a drastic change, other than the fact that it did lessen my tan a bit. Haha. But then again, I'm not really a firm believer of whitening products. Haha. I just don't think that any product could whiten a person more than their natural color. Cyleina Black Pearl made me return to my original skin color, but just that. It didn't whiten me more than I naturally was.

I didn't have any breakouts out all when I used this too, unlike the time I used the Organic Tomato Soap from the same brand. As a matter of fact, the Cyleina Black Pearl soap even lessened my pimples and made my face clearer and brighter. And I think that's one of the best things a soap can even do for one's skin: to give it a healthy-looking glow.

Price? Around 65 pesos for the mini, and 120 for the bigger one.
Where to buy? SM Department Store, Watsons, Hortaleza
Will I recommend it? Absolutely.
Will I repurchase? Of course. Although right now I am using GT Carrot Soap for my face, Black Pearl will always be on standby! Whenever I need something to relax me, a bath with this soap can always do the job!

Review: iWhite Korea Whitening Pack

iWhite Korea Whitening Pack is another product from the series that I am currently reviewing right now. It claims to be able to lighten one’s skin and reduce wrinkles and dark spots.

It serves as a peel off mask that will remove the impurities in your skin and brighten it.

I actually had high hopes for this since it was my first time to use a peel-off mask, but after trying the iWhite Korea Whitening Pack, I think I’m done with masks -- or at least this specific variant.

It's quite cooling for the first few seconds that you put it on your face, but it doesn't take long for the discomfort to sit in. I just couldn't wait to get the whitening pack off my skin. And when I was finally done peeling it off, my skin felt like it was on fire. Total ouch. :( I had it on my face for about 20 minutes and it still wouldn't peel off properly.

And besides, after using it, I didn't see any difference at all. *sigh* There was no brightness or revitalizing effect whatsoever. I suppose you still need to use it a couple more times for it to have a visible effect, but still, I expected a bit more from it. Although I guess my skin did feel a little smoother, softer, and a little bit pinkish. But then again, I did feel like I had been slapped in the face because there was this slight stinging feeling. Who knows, maybe it's just my skin.

For the price, I don't really regret buying iWhite Korea Whitening Pack, since it was very affordable and it was a good try. You can use the sachet for about two times, I believe. You just need to spread the cream evenly to make the peeling process easier.

Price: P22 for the sachet, P169 for the tube
Where to buy: Watsons
Will I recommend this? For those with sensitive skin, probably not. But it could work for others.
Will I buy again? No, I don’t think so. I find Etude House facial masks to be more suitable for my skin.

On Beauty Blogging~

Hi guys!

I can't believe I am starting a new blog, and on beauty, of all things! Whew. I'm not exactly a fan of makeup products, you know? :)

But I love writing, and I love making reviews. I love skincare, too! And surprisingly, when I gave this a try, reviewing soaps and creams and stuff, it was quite easy to make. The words simply... flowed out that I just had to make it a blog post. Ha! Unbelievable. I never thought I was the type to make reviews about skincare stuff.

From visual novels and game-related reviews, I come to this?! Truly unpredictable. Haha.

Buuuut, I am looking forward to this new part of my online life. I think I'll have a lot of fun here. Haha. I think I will, and I believe that. So, I know that I will really enjoy writing in this new blog of mine. I didn't know it at first, but apparently, I have a lot to say about the different products that I can find in our home. Hahaha. Even though most of them belongs to my mother, or are mom's recommendations. :) Who says you can't recommend beauty products at 40? Oh, btw, it's her birthday today. 誕生日おめでとう to my most beautiful and loving mom in the whole wide world. :")

Like I said, I really look forward to a great time here. See you later guys!

lovelots,
Roan Jean
